Subjective probability over a subjective decision tree
نویسنده
چکیده
Since Savage’s seminal work, a state space has been assumed as a primitive and as a complete description of the world. However, the decision maker may have subjective states in her mind, which are distinct from the primitive states, but relevant for her decisions. Dekel, Lipman and Rustichini (2001) derive a unique subjective state space from preference. In a dynamic setting, a state space S and a filtration {Ft}t=0 over S has been taken as primitives. We derive a triplet (S, {Ft}t=0, μ) from preference, where S is a subjective state space, {Ft}t=0 is a subjective filtration over S, and μ is a subjective probability over S. We also show the uniqueness of the representation.

Assigning subjective probabilities to event trees : Partition dependence and bias toward the ignorance prior
Decision and risk analysts have considerable discretion in designing procedures for eliciting subjective probabilities. One popular approach is to specify a particular set of exclusive and exhaustive events for which the assessor provides subjective probabilities. We show that assessed probabilities are biased toward a uniform distribution over all events into which the relevant sample space ha...
متن کاملUnderstanding Deutsch’s Probability in a Deterministic Multiverse
Difficulties over probability have often been considered fatal to the Everett interpretation of quantum mechanics. Here I argue that the Everettian can have everything she needs from ‘probability’ without recourse to indeterminism, ignorance, primitive identity over time or subjective uncertainty: all she needs is a particular rationality principle. The decision-theoretic approach recently deve...

متن کاملThe Factors of Subjective Voice Disorder Using Integrated Method of Decision Tree and Multi-Layer Perceptron Artificial Neural Network Algorithm
The aim of the present study was to develop a prediction model for subjective voice disorders based on an artificial neural network algorithm and a decision tree using national statistical data. Subjects of analysis were 8,713 adults over the age of 19 (3,801 males and 4,912 females) who completed the otolaryngological examination of the Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey fr...
متن کاملA NEW APPROACH IN FAILURE MODES AND EFFECTS ANALYSIS BASED ON COMPROMISE SOLUTION BY CONSIDERING OBJECTIVE AND SUBJECTIVE WEIGHTS WITH INTERVAL-VALUED INTUITIONISTIC FUZZY SETS
Failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA) is a well-known risk analysis approach that has been conducted to distinguish, analyze and mitigate serious failure modes. It demonstrates the effectiveness and the ability of understanding and documenting in a clear manner; however, the FMEA has weak points and it has been criticized by some authors. For example, it does not consider relative importanc...
